After waiting a few months, the Skipper is ready for flight! Roy finished putting the engine back together. and I had the privilege of taking her for a test flight with my friend and Flight Instructor Brett.

Here she is on the ramp, doesn’t she look pretty now!

Here is Brett, standing on his brand new robin, this plane can do acrobatics.

First was a matter of fueling her up. luckily Roy has his own fuel truck.

The Skipper takes 100LL, but I am hoping to get the STC for 94UL or 100G. I would prefer to fly unleaded if possible, and Lycoming just put out a service bulletin to approve the O-235 in the Skipper.
She’s in the air! I had a chance to film a little bit while Brett was flying. She’s performing well at 6,000 ft. air speed indicator shows 92 knots, which is not bad. I flew for about 3.1 hours, which gave me a good feel for how she handles, But I still need more practice on the landings.

Some more shots of Skipper.

I went ahead and finished the payment, I am now a plane owner, although more maintenance needs to be done on the plane. I will travel out back to visit sometime in July when all the remaining repairs/upgrades are complete.
